The current governor of Lagos State in Nigeria is Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a politician from Nigeria who belongs to the All Progressive Congress political party.
On May 29, 2019, he took over as Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s successor and was sworn in as the 15th Governor of Lagos State.
He was from Lagos state in Nigeria and was born on June 25, 1965, into a Christian household. By June 25, 2022, he would be 57 years old based on his birthdate.

He went to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after receiving his first leaving certificate and earned his first degree in the Department of Surveying there.
Sanwo Olu attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government, the London Business School, and the Lagos Business School in addition to earning an MBA from the University of Lagos.
He is a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Training and Development and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) (NITAD).
He began his career in 1994 and held the position of treasurer at Lead Merchant Bank until 1997. He then moved on to the United Bank of Africa (UBA), where he served as the head of the foreign money market.
He was also the chairman of Baywatch Group Ltd and a manager for First Inland Bank, which is now First City Monument Bank.
Babajide Sanwoolu began his political career in 2003. He was appointed as Femi Pedro’s special adviser on corporate matters, the position held by the former deputy governor of Lagos State.
Later, under the then-Gov. Bola Tinubu, he was appointed as the commissioner for commerce and industry and served in that capacity until 2007.
Babatunde Fashola appointed him Commissioner of Establishment, Training, and Personnel following the 2007 general elections. In 2016, under Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, he was appointed Managing Director of the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC).
Some of Mr Sanwo-major Olu’s public sector achievements include the supervision of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) Privatization projects. The Lagos Security Trust Fund was founded by him, and he served as its first board chairman. Afterwards, on his orders, the Control and Command Centre in Alausa, Ikeja, and the LAGBUS System were built.
In 2015, he was elected governor under the banner of the All Progressive Congress (APC) after defeating Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 739,445 votes. Agbaje received 206,141 votes.

Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu is married to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and together they have four wonderful children. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu also serves as an administrator. She acquired a Master of Business Administration degree in addition to her first degree in MBBS from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) (MBA). In an interview, Sanwo-Olu claimed that his desire to run for governor was inspired by his children. A seasoned administrator with around 17 years of government service, he claimed that his children had called his attention to this fact. Throughout this time, he said, he had worked in a variety of positions that had exposed him to the complexities of governance and economic policy-making.
