The tragic death of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, has stirred a wave of social media reactions as netizens demand justice. In the midst of the online frenzy, one of AKA’s longtime friends, Don Design, has been named a prime suspect in the rapper’s murder, based on CCTV footage analysis.

Don Design is a multi-talented artist, with skills in DJing, fashion design, music video production, and creative direction. He met AKA when he helped him retrieve a lost kit and later shot behind-the-scenes footage for the rapper’s music videos.

Their first project was the music video for Kontrol, directed by Yanga, and they worked together on subsequent videos like Run Jozi and All Eyes on Me. Don Design later became AKA’s creative director, and they collaborated on merchandise designs before he launched his label, Monday2Monday.

Despite the suspicion and backlash from social media detectives, some South Africans have come to Don Design’s defence, citing his close friendship with AKA. The artist dropped out of law school to pursue his passion for music, and he has previously worked for For Real, a record house that sold house music records.
