”National incompetence” – Businessman slams service provider for blocking line he linked to NIN while sparing the one he didn’t link

April 6th, 2022

A Nigerian businessman identified as Morris Monye has taken to social media to lambast his network service provider over the error it made by blocking a phone number he linked to his National Identity Number, NIN.

This comes after the federal government ordered telecommunication firms to bar phone numbers yet to be linked to NIN from April 4.

Subscribers who fall under the category will not be able to make calls until the linkage is done.

After the implementation commenced, Morris revealed via Twitter that the line he linked was barred whereas the one has not linked to his NIN was left to still operate.

He wrote; ”Phone number I linked with my NIN is blocked from making call.

Phone number that is new which I did not link with my NIN can make calls.

National incompetence.”
