Nigerian musician, Segun Johnson, has revealed how much of a surprise it was getting monetary gift from rapper Naira Marley.
He recently performed as a guest artiste at a party that Marley attended and thrilled the Marlian Music founder.
A video which went viral on social media showed the ‘Owambe MC’ singing the praises of the ‘Tesumole’ crooner and it got him moving his body.
Following the endless encomiums, Segun showered on him, Naira Marley couldn’t help but rise to his feet and bust some dance moves.
As things progressed, the street musician called on the rapper to make a bank transfer if he could not spray cash on him on the spot.
However, in the same clip, a screenshot of a blurred bank transaction showed that he received some money.
Speaking on the gift, Johnson stated he was not expecting it but he was glad when he received the alert.
He said; “Aside from Naira Marley, there were so many celebrities at the event. I just entertained as usual. My style is centred on crowd engagement. The performance led me to hyping Naira Marley and I was not expecting him to transfer any money to me.
However, I noticed him telling his younger brother to do a transfer as we were performing. At that point, I knew my bank account would ‘smile’ the next day.”
