Jacinda Ardern, born on July 26, 1980, is a New Zealand politician and the 40th and current Prime Minister of New Zealand. She is also the leader of the New Zealand Labour Party and has been in office since 2017. Jacinda Ardern was born in Hamilton, New Zealand, and grew up in Morrinsville and Murupara. Her father was a police officer, and her mother worked as a school catering assistant. Ardern studied at the University of Waikato and earned a Bachelor of Communication Studies degree in politics and public relations.
After graduation, Ardern worked as a researcher for the Labour Party, and in 2008, she became the President of the International Union of Socialist Youth. She was elected to the New Zealand Parliament in 2008, representing the Labour Party, and quickly rose through the ranks of the party.
In 2017, Jacinda Ardern became the leader of the New Zealand Labour Party and was elected as the Prime Minister of New Zealand in a coalition government. At the age of 37, Ardern became the youngest female head of government in the world.
